Tägertschi

Tägertschi is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography

Tägertschi is located on 604 m above sea level. M., 2 km east of Münsingen and 13 km southeast of the capital of the canton of Bern ( straight line ). The hamlet extends in a wide valley, which is drained by the grave Bach to Aare, on a hillside overlooking Münsingen.

The area of ​​3.6 km ² large municipality area includes a portion of the hill country east of the Aare Valley between Bern and Thun. The main part of the village is occupied by a up to 1 km wide and 2 km long basin, which opens towards the west. The valley is drained by the grave creek through the Mülital, a small erosion valley to Aareniederung. History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1273 under the name Tegersche. Later, the names Tegerschi ( 1380 ), Tägertsche (1530) and Tägertschi (1531 ) published. The name originally meant the big ash wood.

Since the Middle Ages Tägertschi was under the rule Münsingen and shared their fate. The sovereignty over the territory belonged first to the Counts of Kyburg, and was in 1406 in the hands of the city of Bern, which allocated the village of the district court Konolfingen. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798 ) Tägertschi belonged during the Helvetic Republic to the district Höchstetten and from 1803 to Oberamt Konolfingen, which was given the status of an office district with the new cantonal constitution of 1831. To a field change occurred in 1923, when the hamlet Ämligen of the former town Stalden separated in the Emmental and Tägertschi was affiliated. The village does not have its own church, it belongs to the parish Münsingen.

Population

With 409 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Tägertschi one of the small communities of the Canton of Bern. Of the residents 98.5 % are German, 0.6 % English speaking and 0.6 % speak Albanian (as of 2000). The population of Tägertschi amounted in 1850 to 307 residents in 1900 to 336 inhabitants. Economy

Tägertschi was until the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. The water power of the grave Bach for the operation of mills and sawmills was used early on. Even today, the agriculture, dairy farming and livestock have an important place in the economic structure of the population. More jobs are in small local manufacturing and services available. In Tägertschi today forging, Fitters and carpentry are represented. In recent decades, the village has developed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who work mainly in the larger towns in the area and in the agglomeration of Bern.

Traffic

The community is conveniently technically quite well developed. It lies on the main road from Münsingen via Konolfingen to Langnau in the Emmental. The nearest links to the motorway A6 ( Bern- Thun) is located about 5 km from the center.
