Tossicia

Tossicia is a municipality with 1397 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo, Italy. It is located in the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga. The town is a member of the Comunità Montana Gran Sasso.

The town is a center of arts and crafts, especially the lace. The only attraction is the church of S. Antonio Abate. 1471, the portal of a Lombard artist named And (r ) eas Loman was created. The relevant inscription is mutilated. About the portrait heads on either side of the portal, the proclamation is in two statuettes shown to the left of the angels, the right Mary. In the central bezel of the eponymous Abbot Antonio appears.

In the surroundings of the village vines of Montepulciano for the DOC - cultivated wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
