Notaresco

Notary Francesco is a municipality with 6833 inhabitants and is located near Castell Alto and Morro d' Oro in the province of Teramo. The town is a member of the Comunità Montana del Vomano, Fino e Piomba.

Geography

Among the districts ( fractions) are Caporipe, Capracchia, Cordesco, Grasciano, Guardia Vomano, pianura di notary Francesco, Pianura Vomano, Saggio, Torrio, Valle Vignale and Villa Scapoli.

The neighboring municipalities are: Atri, Castell Alto, Cellino Attanasio, Morro d' Oro, Mosciano Sant'Angelo and Roseto degli Abruzzi.

The municipality is situated approximately 23 km from the capital of the province, the city of Teramo and 13 km from the Adriatic coast.

Attractions

The Romanesque church of San Clemente al Vomano near the fraction Guardia Vomano was built in the 12th century. The church belongs to the Benedictine abbey.

The archaeological museum in G. Romualdi notary Francesco has archaeological remains within the community from the Neolithic and Paleolithic. It was found in the fraction Grasciano the remains of a Roman villa.
