Colonnella
Colon Ella is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3796 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo. The community is located about 27.5 kilometers northeast of Teramo, about 22.5 kilometers east of Ascoli Piceno and about 4.5 kilometers west to the Adriatic coast in the Val Vibrata. Colon Ella is immediately adjacent to the province of Ascoli Piceno, this northern municipality border is the Tronto.
History
The area around Colon Ella was described by Pliny the Elder. However Colonella is first mentioned only 936-962 in the chronicles of Farfa.
Traffic
Through the village leads the Adriatic motorway Autostrada A14 from Bologna towards Taranto.
