2013 Winston-Salem Open

The Winston Salem Open 2013 was a tennis tournament which took place in Winston -Salem from 18 to 24 August 2013. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2013 and was discharged on hard court. It belonged to the category ATP World Tour 250 and the U.S. Open Series 2013.

Defender of the single was the two-time and in Winston -Salem unbeaten American John Isner. Both Isner and last year's finalist Tomas Berdych have retired due to injury before the tournament starts. The Austrian Jurgen Melzer won the tournament by his final victory against Gaël Monfils of France.

In doubles Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky competed for the title defense, but failed in the quarterfinals. Winning the double were Daniel Nestor and Leander Paes.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 48 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The 16 top-ranked players in single each received a bye into the second round.

Qualification

Qualification for the Winston Salem Open 2013 took place on 17 and 18 August 2013. Were playing four qualifiers places eligible to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
