Belgian Grand Prix

The Belgian Grand Prix was first held in 1925 and since 1950 the Formula 1 World Championship.

The first Belgian Grand Prix in the Formula 1 World Championship took place in 1950 on the Spa-Francorchamps track in the town of Stavelot (district Francorchamps ) in the Ardennes near Spa and Malmedy near the German border instead. Until 1970, the Grand Prix was held here 18 times. The high- speed track with long straights in 1969 boycotted because they appeared too fast and too uncertain. 1970 took place after conversions for the time being last Grand Prix at this variant instead. End of the 1970s, a shortened to approximately 7 km version was built, running on the 1983 re- Formula 1 race. Because of necessary construction on the track no Belgian Grand Prix was carried out in the 2006 season.
