Belgian Second Division

The Second Division (Dutch: Tweede class, French: Division 2 ) is the second Belgian Football League. Between 2008 and 2010, the league which was first called promotion, named after its main sponsor, the pay- TV provider KNVB, which also owns the rights to TV broadcasting. Previously, the league changed its name from 1952 to 2008 under the name of Division II ( Dutch: Tweede class ), previously from 1926 to 1952 as Division I.

History

The Belgian Football Association led in 1905 under the name of promotion a national second- highest division below the Division I a.
