Bird Beers Chapman

Bird Beers Chapman ( born August 24, 1821 in Salisbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut, † September 21, 1871 in Put - in-Bay, Ohio ) was an American politician. Between 1855 and 1857 he represented the Nebraska Territory as a delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Bird Chapman attended the common schools and then studied law. After qualifying as a lawyer, he began his new career in Elyria exercise. He later moved to Omaha, Nebraska Territory. There he was 1855-1859 the newspaper out " Omaha Nebraskan ."

Chapman was a member of the Democratic Party. As the candidate he was in 1854 elected delegates in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he replaced on March 4, 1855 Napoleon Bonaparte Giddings. As a delegate in Congress, however, he had no right to vote. In the next congressional elections in 1856 he was defeated Fenner Ferguson. He has this choice then appealed unsuccessfully.

After serving in Congress Bird Chapman is no longer politically have appeared. He died in September 1871, and was buried in Elyria.
