Lawrence Brock

Lawrence Brock (* August 16, 1906 in Columbus, Nebraska; † August 28, 1968 in Zion, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1959 and 1961 he represented the third electoral district of the state of Nebraska in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Lawrence Brock attended Leigh High School and then the University of Nebraska, where he studied until 1929 pharmacy. After his studies he worked as a pharmacist in Madison. He was also a rancher and farmer. Brock was a member of several ranchers associations and the Association, which dealt with the electrification of rural areas in the Northeast Nebraska. He was also a member of an advisory team of the highway committee.

Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party, whose Democratic National Convention he attended in 1956 as a delegate. 1958 Brock was selected in the third district of Nebraska in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he became the successor of Robert Dinsmore Harrison on January 3, 1958. After he was not re-elected at the subsequent elections of 1960, Brock was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1961. After the end of his time in Congress, he was employed by the Farmers Home Administration in Washington.
