The nuclear power plant Cooper ( Cooper Nuclear Station in English ) is a nuclear power plant with a boiling water reactor. The nuclear power plant is located in Brownsville in the U.S. state of Nebraska.

History

The block was built in 1968. Companies is the power plant of Nebraska Public Power District ( NPPD ). The block ended on May 10, 1974 to the network.

The plant is named after the from Humboldt ( Nebraska) originating Guy Cooper and Guy Cooper, Jr. in recognition of their contribution to the national power grid in Nebraska.

In June 2011, the power plant by increasing levels of the Missouri was bathed. U.S. President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency for the state and made for federal funds for relief free. The water level reached on 19 June 2011, almost 13 meters; the operators had a " Note on an unusual event » type, the lowest of four warning levels. At a level of 13.90 meters, the NPP would be removed from power.
