Dreis-Brück

Dreis -Brück is a municipality in the volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Daun. Dreis -Brück is a nationally recognized tourist.

Community structure

The municipality is divided into the districts Dreis and bridge. To Dreis still include the residential places Berghof, Dreisermühle and Wiesenhof.

History

The time in the Dreis was founded is in the dark. The origin can be traced back as far as into the Carolingian period, Dreis is first mentioned in 1143 in records. The place name " Dreis " derives obviously from the Old High German word " triusan " ( gush, trickle ) from. The name underwent over the centuries, various modifications: In the 16th century can be found next to the notations " Dreis " also " Dreys " and " Dreyss ". In the 17th century appear next to " Dreyß " also " THIRTY " and " Driest ", which can be found in the 18th century ever in the version " Dryesd ". Also, the spellings " Dress" is detected.

Dreis and bridge belonged to the late 18th century to direct imperial rule Kerpen, which was owned by the Dukes of Arenberg. Part of the village bridge belonged to the Electoral-Trier Office elms.

Policy

Merger of the municipalities Dreis and bridge

By letter of 28 August 1968, the official and city council down informed the district office in down with: " The parliament in the present and advised already in first reading a draft law on the 4th administrative reform in Rhineland -Palatinate looks for the local area, the incorporation among others the locations ... On April 20, 1969, the Interior Ministry Mainz published a decree on the creation of unitary councils in the districts of Koblenz and Trier. On May 22, 1970, the Association council and the city council down and 16 neighboring communities of destination planning to form new unitary councils agreed. The decision on the merger has been advocating forwarded to the district government Trier.

On 26 June 1970, the local government Brück said in identical letters to various political addressees that they regret the planned allocation of the community bridge to the municipality Kelberg against the will of council and population extraordinary. On August 5, 1970 Brück finally lodged a constitutional complaint with the Constitutional Court.

On 20 December 1973, the dissolution of the community Brück and their integration into the community Dreis with effect from 16 March 1974 this was. In February 1974, the two municipal councils and Dreis Brück approved a contract dispute and the integration of the community bridge.

On August 15, 1977, the district government Trier gave the local church Dreis the new name " Dreis -Brück ". The Attribution entered into force on 1 September 1977.

Parish council

The local council in Dreis -Brück consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was designed by Bert Fried Wißkirchen ( Verbandsgemeindeverwaltung down ). The district government Trier gave approval for the guidance of the municipal coat of arms in 1986.

The head of the shield refers to the historical past of the local church. The formerly independent places Dreis and bridge belonged to the Counts of Manderscheid as owner of the domain Kerpen; this later became the basis of a division of an estate over to the Dukes of Arenberg. The Dukes of Arenberg led three roses in their seals. The coat of arms of the Counts of Manderscheid colors are gold and red

The black arch bridge in the lower part of the emblem should symbolize the place name Brück. The above it clamshell fountain refers to the effervescence sources ( " Drees " ), which the district takes its name from Dreis. Old house names

Many older homes in Dreis-Brück have names that have nothing to do with the current owners. The name comes in part from the name and occupations of former residents. But also by the use of each building. The names also emerged through various events.

Personalities

Dreis- Brück is the residence of the famous thriller author Jacques Berne village. Also its alter ego Siggi Baumeister, fictional protagonist of his Eifel thrillers, lives in Dreis -Brück. Therefore, the action of many of its Eifel thrillers takes place within this place.
