Grödersby

Grödersby (Danish: Grødersby ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. The present municipality was created in the local government reform in 1971.

Geography

The Südschleswigscher community Grödersby is in the countryside fishing at Grödersbyer Noor in the loop. The Grödersbyer Au flows through the municipal area in an up to 10 m deep incision.

History

The place name is composed of the Danish words grøde and by means together and settlement in the pasture.

Around 1230 was Grödersby, measured at the present, if only because of its geographical expansion - from Königstein to Pageroe - much more important. The former Grödersbyer castle was therefore of strategic importance. The old castle square is recognized by its surrounding ditch today. ( The Castle Course is not open to the public). Written descriptions in old logs Grödersby learns for the first time in 1231.

In 1406 Grödersby was then transferred to the Danish monarch Margaret I.. She left the castle burn down in the same year. 1837 the village had thirteen yards and six cottages.

In 1871 the village Grödersby with the districts Habertwedt, small Grödersby, Marienhof, Königstein, Wester gaps Grödersby Station and Fegetasch to the municipality Grödersby, with 213 residents and 27 residential buildings.

The Grödersbyer Noor was once known for fishing and equipped with a corresponding number of herring fences and Aalwehren. About a Watstelle and later a dam could Arnis, which was located on an island long reach.
