Medelby

Medelby is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography

Medelby is located about twenty kilometers west of Flensburg between the Danish border and the highway 199 on the Schleswig 's Geest.

History

The St. Matthew's Church, a stone church was built around 1200. The roof turret with the bell and an extension added to the end of the 18th century.

On the southern edge of the village is the built in 1884 grain mill, a Dutch windmill. Today it serves as a home.

Policy

Of the 14 seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 six seats, the SPD, the SSW and the voter communities WG 70 and DuK have two seats each.
