Hasenmoor

Rabbits Moor is a municipality in the district of Segeberg in Schleswig-Holstein. Fuhlenrüe, Hege Buchenbusch, Jabbob, Tannenhof, Wiesenhof and Wolf Mountain are within the municipal area.

Geography and transport

Rabbits Moor is located about 6 km east of Bad Bramstedt in on the main road 206 from Itzehoe to Lübeck. To the west runs the Federal Highway 7 from Hamburg to Schleswig.

History

For the first time Hasenmoor was mentioned in the old city of Kiel book of the years 1264 to 1289, as a group of houses " Wolfesberch " (today Wolfsberg ). Towards the end of the 16th century, the first shepherds' were mentioned.

Since 1870 Hasenmoor together with the present-day district Fuhlenrüe a community.

Due to the significant share of heath and moorland, marsh rabbits offered its inhabitants to the beginning of the 20th century in addition to agriculture a great way for keeping sheep. Large areas were obtained after 1900 by new agricultural techniques as farmland or meadows, or planted with trees ( pines ).

Economy

The municipal area is predominantly agricultural, but there are also some commercial businesses.
