Hörup

Hörup (Danish: Hørup ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. Bärenshöft ( Bjørnshoved ), New Hörup and Spölbek ( Spølbæk ) are located in the municipal area.

History

The place was in 1472 for the first time as Horop ( place where plenty of hay ) mentioned. Southeast of the village bog iron ore was mined until the early 20th century.

Hörup was awarded as child, youth and family-friendly community.
