Jörl

Jörl (Danish: Jørl ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Großjörl (Store Jørl ) Kleinjörl (Lille Jørl ), Paul gift, Rimmel mountain ( Rimmelsbjerg ) Rupel, Stieg Lund ( Stiglund ) and Südermoor lie in the municipality.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1240 as Jorlum, which is probably derived from an old German name for the country level.

The St. Catherine's Church was built in the 14th century. The bell tower of 1914 replaced an older tower which was separate from the church.

From 1889 to 1968 Jörl seat of administration within the jurisdiction of the Office or Jörl. Since its resolution Jörl belongs to the Official Eggebek.

Policy

All eleven members of the municipal council are members of the local election since 2013, the voters Community KWJ.

Coat of arms

Blazon: "In a three-part gold green juniper branch with seven black fruits (berries). "

The coat of arms refers to the nature reserve Rimmel mountain, where there are a variety of juniper bushes. The seven berries are supposed to represent the districts.

Culture and sights

In the list of cultural monuments in Jörl are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments.

The Pobüller Bauernwald and inland dune at Rimmel Mountain are designated conservation areas.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is predominantly agricultural, with dairy farming predominates.
