Mözen is located on the B 432 between Leezen and Bad Segeberg. The adjacent Mözener lake has an area of ​​131 ha and is owned by a local fishing cooperative. The use of motorized watercraft on the lake is prohibited.

Mözen was first mentioned in 1137 as Mozinke. At that time the village belonged to the monastery Segeberg.
