Rabenkirchen-Faulück

Raven -Faulück (Danish Ravnkær - Fovlløk ) is a municipality in the loop in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. In its present form is the municipality since 1971. Faulück (Danish Fovlløk ) Faulückfeld, Karschau ( Karskov ) Neuwerk, Raven Churches ( Ravnkær ), Raven church wood and Spinkery lie in the municipality.

Geography and transport

Raven -Faulück lies about 6 km west of Kappeln on the main road 201 Kappeln to Husum.

History

The St. Mary's Church, a Romanesque stone church was built in the 12th century. In the 15th century the Romanesque choir was demolished and replaced by a larger late Gothic building of field and bricks. The brick tower was built in the 15th century as the first stone tower in fishing and dressed in the 17th century with granite. The parish dates back to 1822. Worth seeing are the wall paintings from the 17th century on the ground floor of the church tower. The organ above the altar is considered the oldest in fishing. It was renewed in 1999 original. Opposite the pulpit is the lodge of the aristocratic landlords of good Dollrott. To lodge is accessed via an external staircase on the north wall.

Legend

The church is located off the resort Raven churches on a small survey. According to legend, two ravens are said to have settled as messengers from heaven on the hill far distant from the village and determines the site of the old church. But here, as in many churches of the 12th and 13th centuries there was a pre-Christian place of worship. Then Odin's ravens point.

Recent History

From 1904 to 1972 there was a station on the route Schleswig- Kappeln in the community, which is now used by a railway museum.

On 1 April 1971 the parish Raven -Faulück was newly formed by the merger of the municipalities Faulück and raven churches.

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU has been the local elections in 2013 five seats and the SPD four.
