Jarménil
Jarménil is a commune with 431 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Epinal, in the canton of Remiremont and the Local Government Association, Voge vers les Rives de la Moselle

Geography
Jarménil between cities Epinal and Remiremont in the southeast of Lorraine is located at the mouth of the Vosges ridge springing, 50 -kilometer Vologne into the Moselle.
The territory of Jarménil extends from the right bank of the upper Moselle, which forms the southwestern boundary of the municipality, situated on both sides of the lower Volognetales down to the 300 feet above the Moselle valley heights east of the core site. They belong to the western foothills of the Vosges and are almost completely covered by forest (Les Grandes Hayes ).
The settlement area is confined to the valleys of the Moselle and Vologne. Here are also modestly arable and meadow areas. 80 % of the municipal area is classified as forest.
Neighboring communities of Jarménil are Cheniménil in the northeast, Xamontarupt in the east, in the southeast Éloyes, Pouxeux the south and west and Archettes in the northwest.
History
Before the French Revolution Jarménil belonged to the spell of Arches and was long in the possession of the abbesses of the Chapitre de Remiremont. From 1790 to 1801 the town was part of the canton Éloyes.
Jarménil has no church. Pastoral care takes over the Saints- Gorgon -et -Nabor in neighboring Pouxeux.
Demographics
The designation of a development area in the 1990s drew particular young families from the towns of the area in the community, so that the population increased by 20 % over the long-term average.

Economy and infrastructure
Agriculture and Fortstwirtschaft play as in the other municipalities between Epinal and Remiremont today only a subordinate role. Apart from a small sawmill, smaller craft and commercial enterprises have settled in Jarménil. However, most workers commute to the numerous commercial areas of the neighboring communities in the Mosel valley.
Transport links
By Jarménil runs parallel to the Moselle department Straße 42 of Epinal by Éloyes and D 159bis of Pouxeux by the Volognetal after CHENIMENIL. The railway line Epinal -Saint -Dié -des-Vosges - hall - Strasbourg also crosses the area of the community, but there is no board the bus. The next stop is at the Pouxeux the Moselle valley following line Nancy- Epinal - Remiremont, which is also operated by the Company TER Lorraine.
