1947–48 IHL season
The season 1947/48 was the third regular season of the International Hockey League. During the regular season, six teams denied each of 30 games. In the play-offs, the Toledo Mercurys prevailed and won the first Turner Cup in their history.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Windsor Spitfires changed their name to Windsor Spitfires Hettche.
- The Toledo Mercurys were added as an expansion team in the league
