1952–53 IHL season
The season 1952/53, was the eighth regular season of the International Hockey League. During the regular season, six teams denied each of 60 games. In the play-offs, the Cincinnati Mohawks prevailed and won the first Turner Cup in their history.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Chatham Maroons were transferred to the Ontario Hockey Association.
- The Detroit Hettche stopped the game operation.
- The Cincinnati Mohawks of the American Hockey League have been included as an expansion team in the league.
- The Fort Wayne Komets were added as an expansion team in the league.
- The Milwaukee Chiefs were added as an expansion team in the league.
