Hintertiefenbach

Hintertiefenbach is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein.

Geography

The town is located north of the Nahe in a basin, drained by the " Hintertiefenbach " ( inflows: Gilzbach, Bach at the Bismarck oak, forest stream, Edemisbach ) hidden.

To Hintertiefenbach includes the settlement Wassergall.

Powder hole

In earlier times, three copper tunnels were created in direct local village, but were abandoned due to low yield. Then this corridor designation could be due, as you named deposits for black powder with which they used to blow up the rock tunnel usually so.
