Veitsrodt
Veitsrodt is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein. Veitrsrodt is a nationally recognized tourist.
Geography
Veitsrodt situated within the conservation area Hochwald Idarwald. The municipality also includes the residential places Lindenhof, Strudthof and brick cottage.
History
The place was first mentioned at the beginning of the 13th century as Rodt documented. Since 1319 he belonged to the Earl Wild.
In Veitsrodt for more than 500 years will find markets, especially cattle markets, instead of what was held in the local coat of arms ( bull's head and the connecting hands, as the contract ). For 175 years, the market bears the name Veitsrodter premium market. Every second weekend in July, he will be held in the market area at Veitsrodt. Every year there is a rich range of goods at over 300 stalls available.
In the place lived about 1795 to 1798, the family of the robber Schinderhannes. The father Johann Buckler was employed as a field contactor and day laborers. At least during the initial period of Schinderhannes still lived with their parents. Sometimes the Schinderhannes errands made for the guest host chef from Veitsrodt. On September 16, 1798 Joseph Buckler, the younger brother of Schinderhannes, confirmed in Veitsrodt. The influential building of the village is equipped with an organ of the famous organ builder family Mute Protestant Baroque church in the town center. From 1804 to 1811 Friedrich Christian Laukhard was pastor here. He wrote at this time many of his writings. The Church also has a 500-year old bell that has been preserved over the world wars.

Parish council
The local council in Veitsrodt consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Culture and sights
The German Gemstone Route leads through the village. In places nearby forest of stone book of the German Gemstone Route was created in 1971. It is a pathway that is lined with selected boulders from a nearby quarry.

Traffic
Veitsrodt has two bus stops. While a bus stop can be found right in town, the bus stop Veitsrodt market is just one kilometer from the site. The lines 346 and 351 keep in Veitsrodt. Termini are Mr. Stone / Wickenrodt or Rhaunen / Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.
