Horbruch

Horbruch is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rhaunen. Horbruch is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Horbruch lies in the Hunsrück region northwest of the 746 meter high Idarkopfs. 44.3 percent of the district area is forested. To the west is high Scheid, in the north Hirschfeld ( Hunsrück) and to the east is Krummenau.

To Horbruch includes the residential places Bergmühle, Emmerich mill, forest house Horbruch, Hock mill and Neumühlestrasse.

The horn was removed from the previous court seal of Horbruch. The horn may mean a " canting symbol" for the town name. The rear shield part refers to the former belonging to the Rear County of Sponheim.
