Weiden, Rhineland-Palatinate
Pastures is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein.
Geography
Pastures located on the edge of the Natural Park Saar -Hunsrück between Mörschied and Hottenbach at the German Gemstone Route. Half of the district area is forested. For pastures include the Weiden mill.
The municipality has the lowest population of all local communities in the municipality Herrnstein. In the district of Birkenfeld only Schwerbach and Weitersbach have fewer inhabitants.
History
Pastures belonged to the late 18th century to the reign Wartenstein that was as Kurtrierisches last fief held by the Barons of Warsberg.

The Municipal Council in pastures composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Attractions
In the Weiden mill Schinderhannes was arrested on 10 July 1798. The (new ) Mill in the meadow valley dates back to 1832.

In the southeast, the highway runs 41 In Idar-Oberstein/Weierbach is the Bahnhof Fischbach - Weiersbach on the railway line Bingen- Saarbrücken.
