Mittelreidenbach

Mittelreidenbach is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein.

Geography

The place is located in the south-east Reidenbachtal nearby. In the West, Idar- Oberstein is located.

History

Mittelreidenbach was first documented in 1367. Mittelreidenbach belonged to the end of the 18th century imperial rule Oberstein and was the seat of a Schultheißerei.

In 1794, the left bank of the Rhine was occupied by French revolutionary troops. From 1798 to 1814 Mittelreidenbach belonged to the Canton Grumbach in the Saarland Department. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements, the region came in 1816 for Saxony- Coburg Principality of Lichtenberg, which it remained until 1834. The community Berglangenbach first belonged to the mayor's Schmidthachenbach, from 1823 to the mayoralty Rhodesia. After being sold to Prussia and the resolution of the Principality of Lichtenberg Mittelreidenbach came to the newly erected county of St. Wendel in the Rhine Province. Since 1937 Mittelreidenbach belongs to the district of Birkenfeld, and since 1946 has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate.
