Herrstein

Mr. Stone at the German Gemstone Route in the Nahe region is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland -Palatinate and the administrative seat of the municipality of the same name. Geography

Mr. Stein is located in the south of the Hunsrück Idarwalds, the fish creek flows through the town.

History

Castle Herrnstein ( Herestyn ) was first documented in 1279. Town and castle belonged to the County of Sponheim. The place was then managed by the neighboring Niederwörresbach from. With a shift in emphasis the importance of Mr. Stone, the seat of Sponheim upper bailiff was increased. In the year 1428 the place was then the town and market rights granted, but remained single compulsory labor and the obligation of citizens to entertain the city wall preserved. Tourism

In Mr. Steiner Schinderhannes tower was 1798 a night called John Buckler, Schinderhannes, Germany's most famous robbers locked up.
