Kirschweiler
Kirschweiler is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Herrnstein. Kirschweiler is a nationally recognized tourist.
Geography
Kirschweiler is located a few kilometers northwest of Idar-Oberstein, in the Hunsrück. 56 percent of the district area is forested. Other neighboring municipalities are Hettenrodt and Kempfeld with his district Katzenloch.
To Kirschweiler includes the living spaces on the Lühmann and Kirschweiler mill.

Parish council
The local council in Kirschweiler consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Culture and sights
The place include several gemstone cutters that can be visited, a spacious golf course of the Golf Club Edelstein Hunsrück eV and two gemstone fountain in the center. Every year is celebrated in Kirschweiler the " Burekirb ". To simplify structure in Kirschweiler include the TuS Kirschweiler (including football), the MGV Kirschweiler ( glee club ), the SV Kirschweiler ( shooting club ), and much more.

Economy and infrastructure
The town was first mentioned in 1272 and the abundance of water flowing through the valley Idarbachs was the basis for the development of the " village of the gemstone cutters ". Even today, the industrial life of cherry hamlet of operations of the gem cutter and goldsmith's work is marked. Landmarks are the gemstone fountain in the center of the village and the crystal fountain at the Hans Becker Hall.
A retirement home under sponsorship of the Elizabeth Foundation is located at the periphery of Kirschweiler with 63 nursing places and 6 seats for assisted living.
