Horbach, Südwestpfalz

Horbach is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It is administered by the municipality Forest Fischbach Castle albums located in the municipality of the same name.

Geography

The village lies at the junction of Sickinger height to the wood country. To the north is Linden, east Geiselsberg, south, and west Steinalben Hermersberg. By Horbach flows Queidersbach.

To Horbach also includes the residential places Brachhof, Horbachermühle and factory Schwanenmühle.

Religion

End of 2013, 67.1 percent of the population Catholic and 19.1 percent were Protestant. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were. Dating back to the 14th century Catholic parish church of St. Peter is classified as a monument. It is partly built with stones from the Roman period.

The local council in Horbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " split from silver and black, right down perpendicular asked introspective green oak branch with four leaves and three acorns, left five silver balls 2:1:2 ".

It was established in 1957 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior and reminds the five balls to the former belonging to the lords of SICKINGEN.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village leads the L 363 to the nearby driveway Weselberg the A 62 is connected to the long-distance transport.

South of the town center, just off route 270, the Business Park is Schwanenmühle. Here some companies produce - some of the world's market leaders in their industry belonging - products specifically for the electrical and power engineering.
