Erfweiler

Erfweiler is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Dahn, which has its headquarters in the town of Dahn. Erfweiler is a nationally recognized resort.

Geographical location

Erfweiler is located in the German part of the Wasgau in the southern Palatinate Forest, to the west is the town of Dahn. 82.5 percent of the district area is forested.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1353. After the Dahner Knight with Ludwig II became extinct on 15 September 1603 he belonged to the Bishopric of Speyer. 1816 Erfweiler was Bavarian.

Since 1946 Erfweiler part of the then newly founded state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

Religion
