Steinalben

Steinalben is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Forest Fischbach Castle albums.

Geography

The village lies at the junction of Sickinger height to timber land in Moosalbtal. To the north is Horbach, in the east Geiselsberg, south, Forest Fischbach Castle albums and west Hermersberg.

Steinalben situated about 12 km south of Kaiserslautern. In Steinalben the Queidersbach that springs to the Sickinger Höhe, in the Moosalb opens.

Policy

Parish council

The local council in Steinalben consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The eight seats on the council are divided into two groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, the council members were elected by majority vote.

Blazon: " From black and blue divided by a silver oblique wave beams above a rotbewehrter and bezungter golden lion, down a golden mill wheel ".

Culture and sights

Worth seeing are the cutter mill and the natural monument " Big Oak ".

There is an annual summer festival on the first weekend in August.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the town, the B 270 leads to the nearby driveway Weselberg the A 62 is connected to the long-distance transport.

Steinalben is about the Biebermühlbahn (Kaiserslautern - Pirmasens ) connected to the rail network.
