Petersberg, Rhineland-Palatinate

Peter Berg is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Thaleischweiler- frogs.

History

Peter Berg was founded in 1711 or 1712 by three Rodalber citizens as Annexe of the village Rodalben. The first mention in the parish register dates from the year 1714. Already in 1827, presented a written request to become an independent municipality in the Petersberg. Only after several interim Try this succeeded on 1 April 1955, when the country by Law of November 8, 1954 Peter Berg was an independent village.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: "shield of red and blue split, right on green Dreienberg one with the beard up introverted, perpendicular asked golden key, left a gold reinforced Silver Cross ".

The key is the attribute of Peter. The place name along with the three mountain thus talking shown. The law taken from the local coat of arms of Rodalben Cross of the Baden coat of arms.

At the request of the newly independent in 1955 municipality Petersberg the National Archives had designed in Speyer in 1957 the local coat of arms, which the council agreed on 7 June 1957. The coat of arms was designed by Staatsarchivrat Dr. Jan and executed by Ph. striker.

Personalities

The only honorary citizen of Peter Berg's in 1980 to Josef Becker ( CDU), awarded for his services to the community, in particular the attainment of independence.
