Tetenhusen

Tetenhusen (Danish: Tetenhuse ) is a municipality in the district of concern in Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

History

The site was probably founded in 1362 after the Second Marcellus Friesen, who have lost their villages. The assumption is based on the place name, probably means at Tetens houses and is derived from the Frisian personal name Thede or Thade.

The place, however, was originally founded on the other side of the concern and relocated in 1500 because he was threatened by the migrating inland dunes. Near the village there used to be a harbor, were shipped from which timber and peat, as well as a customs station.

Concern shipping was only at the beginning of the First World War to a halt. In the forest chapel, however, is still a model ship (but none of the worry vessels).

Blazon: " Over green sign foot, in a silver wave beams in gold on the left inverted, battle-ready red fox. In the right Obereck a bottom verstutzter green bulrush. "

Since in some boggy, partly sandy moraine landscape with many forests and wetlands are foxes, the Tetenhusener were in the surrounding communities also jokingly called sand foxes. At this the fox is to remind the coat of arms.
