Torbjörn Nilsson

Torbjörn Nilsson ( born July 9, 1954 in Västerås) is a former Swedish football player and current coach.

Nilsson began his career at Jonsered IF, but already changed the age of 20 in 1974 to IFK Göteborg. There he became a very successful striker and several top clubs from all over Europe were aware of the young Sweden. 1976 moved to the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven and also gave his debut for the Swedish national team. The move abroad but was not as successful as hoped for by him and a year later Nilsson moved back to Gothenburg. There, he ran back to his form and won in 1979 and 1982 the Swedish Cup, the 1982 Swedish Championship and to top the 1982 UEFA Cup. Due to these achievements, he was named the best Swedish player of the year and again got offers from other European clubs and changed in 1982 in the Bundesliga for 1.FC Kaiserslautern. Strange was at the change that he had a few weeks earlier thrown Kaiserslautern from the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. After two years in Germany, he went back to his old club Gothenburg, with which he again won the Swedish Championship in 1984.
