Predicate paths

The Pfalz- tourism developed in collaboration with the Association of German Mountain and hiking clubs eV ( German Hiking Association ) the routes for three predicate trails, which were opened in April 2011 and run two of them in the Palatinate Forest:

  • The Palatinate wine trail (153 km, ten reported daily stages ) results in north-south direction of Neuleiningen along the Haardt by silence law stream.
  • The Palatinate Forest path (142 km, nine reported daily stages ) leads from Kaiserslautern through the wood country, and the Wasgau also by silence law stream.

Other predicate trails have been created in recent years, with the participation of the German Hiking Institute. It is nine so-called " premium hiking trails " mainly in the south of the Palatinate Forest. An example is the Rock Country Legend Trail (length 90 km ), which leads into 5-7 daily stages of Dahn to Bruchweiler bear creek through the Dahn country. Other walks, however, were created as day trips and round trips; May serve as examples here include the Wasgau Lakes Tour or Hauensteiner Schuster path.

Theme trails

  • Treetop Trail - Located on Biosphärenhaus Fischbach. The fee-based path extends in height up to 35 m to 270 m in length along by trees and tree crowns. Adjacent there is a water adventure path.
  • Water trail on the Moosalbe - This is one of seven theme paths on the subject of hydraulic engineering in Rhineland- Palatinate. The path leads over 33 km along the Moosalbe and Hirschalbe. A documentation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Rheinland -Pfalz explains various stations in the areas of

He meanders through various side valleys around Rodalben, touching 26 bizarre rock formations of the typical local red sandstone. In 2007 he was recognized by the German Hiking Association as Prädikatsweg.
  • The fountain trail at Heltersberg: Inaugurated in 2009 fountain trail is 40.3 km long and runs in 64 thematic stations around the community Heltersberg. The 30 in volunteering newly renovated fountain are the main focus of the way; more features are natural, mixed forests lonely and bizarre rock formations ( slope rocks and block fields). The cultural-historical background of the path is documented in detailed information panels and an accompanying brochure.

Local trails

Many local churches and communities in the Palatinate Forest Association have reported local trails. The loop trails usually marked with numbers are used predominantly on short to medium distances by the locals. The care of these circular routes (paths marking, cutting free ) has been much neglected in recent years due to weak demand and low budget part, they can therefore be found in part only with the help of topographic maps.

Collaborative tagging systems

Since the founding of the Palatinate Forest and the Vosges Club club (French Club Vosgien ) over 100 years ago almost identical marking systems are of two hiking clubs used. This is not only cross-border hiking absolutely run without any problems but it is the bill also fact taken that the Palatinate Forest and the Vosges by geomorphological and topographical aspects form a unit, are thus actually to be considered as parts of a parent linksrheinischen Mountains.
