1984 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
In the Olympic year 1984 no Ice Hockey World Men Championships took place as early as 1980, however, the 8 U20 World Junior Championship was held. A venue for the World Cup in the period from 25 December 1983 to 3 January 1984, the cities of Norrköping and Nyköping in Sweden. The B- World Cup took place from 19 to 25 March in Caen in France, while the C group was played from March 25 to 31 in Varese, Italy. A total of 24 teams took part. The defending champion from the Soviet Union won his sixth world title in the U20 age group.

A World Championship
World cup
The World Cup took place in the Swedish cities of Norrköping and Nyköping. Junior World Champion team of the USSR. The team from Switzerland dismounted and was replaced by newly promoted Poland.

Approved players were under 20 years old (U -20). It was attended by eight teams that competed in a common group once each for each group opponents. World Champion was the group winner. The Last dismounted in the B World Cup.
