Caltavuturo
Caltavuturo is a city in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 4097 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Caltavuturo is located 80 km southeast of Palermo. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture.
The neighboring municipalities are Polizzi Generosa, Sclafani Bagni and Scillato.
History
There are settlements here since the 9th century known. The present town originated in the 17th century and is located south of the old town center.
Attractions
The parish church was built in the 16th century and changed significantly in the 18th century. Inside is a statue of the Virgin Mary. The church of Santa Maria la Nuova contains inside stucco work from the 18th century. The seminary of San Francesco has a medieval cloister.
