Flag of Florida
The flag of Florida consists of a red St. Andrew's cross on a white background, with the seal of Florida in the middle.
The design has been established following a referendum in 1900. From 1868 to 1900, the flag of Florida consisted only of the Seal of the State on a white background. In the late 1890s suggested the then Governor of Florida, Francis P. Fleming, add before a red cross, so that the flag does not look like a white flag during a lull.
The current design of the flag is in use since 1985. This year, the seal of Florida has been modified and officially redefined.
