The flag of the U.S. state of Georgia was launched on 8 May 2003.
Description
Takes you on a red- white- striped bunting in Gösch the seal of Georgia, surrounded by 13 stars which represent the 13 founding countries of the United States, including Georgia. It is based on the first flag of the Confederate States of America.
In banners are the two mottos: ". In God We Trust" " Wisdom, Justice, Moderation" ( " Wisdom, Justice, Moderation ") and ( " In God we trust. " )

History
The first flag of Georgia included the state seal on a blue background. The following three flags had the flag of the Confederate States of America as a base. 1956 was the civil rights movement who fought for equal rights for blacks, at the peak and the racist governor of Georgia Marvin Griffin sat down with the new flag, which was introduced in 1956. These included the battle flag of the Confederate States of America. From Griffin came also the quote " The rest of the nation is looking to Georgia for the lead in segregation. " (The rest of the nation looks at Georgia as a leading state in questions of racial segregation ) critics like Congressman John Lewis saw in her a racist protest. Especially because it was adopted shortly after the decision of Brown v. Board of Education. During the 1990s, political pressure was ausgebübt, who campaigned for a change in the flag.
