Höhfröschen

Höhfröschen is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Thaleischweiler- frogs.

Geography

Höhfröschen is on the Sickinger Höhe. To the north is Thaleischweiler- frogs, in the south Petersberg.

History

The village was founded after the Thirty Years' War. Previously there was the Frankish settlement Already Bach.

The place belonged to the rule Lviv, which in 1570 was up to the extinction of the line belonged to the counts of Zweibrücken- Bitsch, then came to the Counts of Hanau -Lichtenberg and 1736 to the Landgrave of Hesse -Darmstadt.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " In gold on green Dreienberg increases a green frog, banked in three red chevrons ".

It was awarded in 1971 by the district government of Rheinhessen-Pfalz.

The rafters are taken from the coat of arms of the Counts of Hanau- Lichtenberg. The frog refers talking on the place name. The three mountain symbolizes the altitude of the area.
