IJburg

IJburg is an emerging area in the east of Amsterdam. It will be built on a total of seven artificially washed sand islands. The first homes in 2003 based. History

Initial plans for a new district already existed in 1965 by the architects Van den Broek en Bakema. But not until the end of 1999 began construction of the first island.

Connection

The district is connected by tram Amsterdam by the line 26. This line runs to Amsterdam Central Station, the other terminal is located on the island.
