IJburg

IJburg is an emerging area in the east of Amsterdam. It will be built on a total of seven artificially washed sand islands. The first homes in 2003 based. History

Initial plans for a new district already existed in 1965 by the architects Van den Broek en Bakema. But not until the end of 1999 began construction of the first island.
