Jim Broyhill

James Thomas "Jim" Broyhill ( born August 19, 1927 in Lenoir, North Carolina ) is a former American politician of the Republican Party. Broyhill was dated January 3, 1963 to January 3, 1969 Member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 9th District of North Carolina and then took until 14 July 1986, the 10th district.

On 14 July 1986 Broyhill was appointed Senator of the Class 3 of North Carolina. He assumed this position after his predecessor John Porter East took his own life. Broyhill candidate officially to succeed Easts, but was defeated by Democrat Terry Sanford. After the end of his term as a senator on 4 November 1986, Broyhill drew largely withdrew from politics.

Broyhill is married to Louise and has three children.
