The place is located near Zweibrücken in the Schwarzbach.
History
Rieschweiler -Mühlbach was re-formed on 7 June 1969 the formerly independent communities Höhmühlbach and Rieschweiler.

Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: " split from silver and black, right divided by a wavy red bars, above a blue uncial capital letter M, including a red millstone, left rotbewehrter, bezungter - and - crowned golden lion ".
It was awarded in 1980 by the district government Rheinhessen-Pfalz.
The front half of the shield refers to former landlords in Höhmühlbach. The letter M refers to the Madonna, who led the monastery Wörschweiler in his seal. The counts of Saarwerden had in their coat of arms a red bar and a red ball. Have been slightly modified from a wave beams and a millstone to represent the place name to speak. The rear half of the shield shows the Wittelsbach lion of Palatinate -Zweibrücken. In the Duchy Rieschweiler had the status of a Schultheißerei own.

Public institutions
The place is equipped with five fire trucks. A TSF is stationed in Höhmühlbach. In Rieschweiler are a TLF 16/25, the former, old Höhmühlbacher TSF. There are also the vehicles of the civil protection. LF 16 TS and SW 2000 is also a field kitchen is stationed here.
The fire water delivery component is intended for over local help, so can be used throughout the county Southwest Palatinate.
Educational institutions
In the district Rieschweiler there is a primary school with associated public library and in the district Höhmühlbach a kindergarten.
