Ron DeSantis

Ronald Dion "Ron" DeSantis ( born September 14, 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Ron DeSantis attended until 1997, the Dunedin High School in Florida and then studied until 2001 at Yale University in the field of history. He then completed by 2005 at Harvard University to study law. Between 2005 and 2010 he served in the legal department of the United States Navy. He was stationed in the years 2007 and 2008 in Iraq. After the end of his active military service, he became a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve. He also worked as an investigator in the Office of the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. He also taught at the Florida Coastal School of Law Military Law and published a treatise entitled Dreams From Our Founding Fathers: First Principles in the Age of Obama.

In the congressional elections of 2012 was Ron DeSantis as a candidate of the Republican Party in the sixth constituency of Florida against the Democrat Heather Beaven in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Cliff Stearns on January 3, 2013.
