Dan Miller (U.S. politician)

Daniel " Dan " Miller ( * May 30, 1942 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan) is an American politician. Between 1993 and 2003 he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

During his childhood came Dan Miller to Florida. He attended until 1960, the Manatee High School in Bradenton. Then he studied until 1964 at the University of Florida in Gainesville, then to 1965 at Emory University in Atlanta and finally to 1970 at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He then taught at Georgia State University in Atlanta and the University of South Florida in Sarasota. Together with his father and brother, he also ran a restaurant and a nursing home. He also worked in the real estate industry.

Politically, Miller became a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1992 he was in the 13th electoral district of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he became the successor of Porter Goss on January 3, 1993. After four elections he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2003, five legislative sessions. Miller was a member of the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Government Reform and Oversight, and in some sub-committees.

In 2002, he opted not to run again. Since then, he has held no higher political office.
