Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Debbie Wasserman Schultz ( born September 27, 1966 in Queens, New York) is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party and, since 2005, representing the 20th congressional district of the state of Florida Member of the House of Representatives of the United States. She is the first Jewish Congresswoman Florida.

She studied at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1988, and in 1990 a Master of Arts in Political Science. From 1992 to 2000 Wasserman Schultz was a member of the House of Representatives from Florida; after she sat from 2000 to 2004 in the state Senate.

Since May 4, 2011, she chaired the Democratic National Committee, the party organization of the Democrats. Following the resignation of her predecessor Tim Kaine, she was appointed by U.S. President Barack Obama to his successor; earlier, she had the DNC Board listened as deputy chairman. Wasserman Schultz is the third woman to head the Democrats by Jean M. Westwood and Debra DeLee.
