Earl Dewitt Hutto

Earl Dewitt Hutto ( born May 12, 1926 in Midland City, Dale County, Alabama ) is a former American politician. Between 1979 and 1995 he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Earl Hutto attended the common schools and then studied until 1949 at the Troy State University. During the final phase of World War II, he interrupted his studies for two years to serve 1944-1946 in the U.S. Navy. Between 1954 and 1974, Hutto sports director and artistic director was different radio stations. From 1973 to 1979 he also ran its own advertising agency.

Politically, Hutto joined the Democratic Party. Between 1972 and 1978 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Florida. In the congressional elections of 1978 he was the first electoral district of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Robert Sikes on January 3, 1979. After seven elections he could pass in Congress until January 3, 1995 eight legislatures. He was considered one of the most conservative Democratic deputies. During his time as a congressman of the 27th Amendment to the Constitution was adopted.

In 1994, Earl Hutto gave up another candidacy. He subsequently retreated to his retirement.
