Sulzbach, Birkenfeld
Sulzbach ( also called Rhaunensulzbach ) is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rhaunen.

Geography
Sulzbach is located on a ridge in southern Hunsrück between Rhaunen and Herrnstein.

The local council in Sulzbach consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Stumm organ
For a working copy of the Stumm'schen organs located in the village church. It is the last copy of Johann Michael Stumm, that this gave his home village. There concerts are still held regularly, which are organized by the silent organ club Sulzbach.
Heuchelheim
To Sulzbach district include the historic market square Heuchelheim, at the crossroads of an ancient trade route from Glan lying towards the Moselle. One branch of this since the Bronze Age, committed, developed in Roman times and in the Middle Ages continue to use route crosses Rhaunen and Büchenbeuren Enkirch, while the other ran directly over the Idarkopf for Sirona sanctuary in high Scheid, finally in the District inch oak antique in the einzumünden Ausoniusstraße.
The market Heuchelheim was the site of a Celtic-Roman culture establishment which later served as the Thing square of the medieval High Court Rhaunen.
Economy and infrastructure
The Farming place thrives on tourism ( holiday cottages, farm holidays ) and the shale processing. So Sulzbach also hosts a slate quarry, which is located about a kilometer away from the place. Previously there underground mining was made, but by importing slate mostly from Spain only slate is now post-processed.
Personalities
- Christian Stumm, blacksmith. Two of his sons became important entrepreneurs: Johann Nikolaus Silent (1668-1743), built in 1714 an iron hammer. Johann Michael Stumm (1683-1747) founded an organ workshop in the same year.
