1972 Mestaruussarja

The Mestaruussarja 1972 was the 42nd season of the Finnish football championship since the introduction of Mestaruussarja. It was contested among twelve teams. Champion was defending Turun Palloseura before Mikkelin Palloilijat.

FA Cup

The final of the Finnish Football Cup was held in the Olympic Stadium Helsinki on 15 October 1972. Lahti Reipas defeated Vaasan Palloseura 2-0. The cup final was first broadcast live on television.
