Börsborn

Börsborn is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Glan- Münchweiler.

Geography

The village Börsborn 320 m above sea level is located three kilometers from the Ohmbachsee in the Western Palatinate.

History

The first written record dates from 1383 as Berßborn. From 1488 to 1793 the town belonged to the designated as Munchweiler valley possession of the Counts von der Leyen.

The local council in Börsborn consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 in a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights

The more than 500 -year-old Muhleiche and in the years 1788/89 at the request of the Countess Marianne donated by the Leyen bell tower in the town center are the symbol of the village.
